Auction & Barbecue UPDATE

For over three decades, the annual Hospice Auction & Barbecue, the signature fundraiser of Hospice of Randolph, has been a highlight event for the organization as well as the community. The event traditionally brings together more than 1,200 community members for one evening to enjoy delicious barbecue and an exciting auction of more than 500 items. Much of the planning for this year’s Auction & Barbecue, like most special events, was dependent on the Governor’s announcements of next phases of reopening of the state. Additionally, the event is hosted at a local public high school and due to obvious reasons they are not be able to accommodate any outside events this year.

As it became more clear that a large gathering would be out of the question, alternative formats were researched. After much discussion and consideration of different ideas, this year’s event will shift to be an online auction only. We are excited that we have the opportunity to still host a fundraiser during such challenging times.

Join us for the 2020 Hospice Auction

This year’s 2020 Hospice Auction will open at 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 7. As the event goes live at 3 p.m., we will launch a kick off video on Facebook that will hopefully showcase some of familiar faces associated with the event and create additional buzz around the auction items and supporting our organization. The action will end at 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 12.

How can you help?

Spread the word! Tell your friends and family to tune into our social media and websites to keep up to date on all event details. Be familiar with the event format, how special events help our organization and how people can give back. Because this year’s event is online, we will potentially be able to draw people who have never attended the Auction in person before. This is a great opportunity to engage our entire service area!

The auction link will be available closer to the event date through our website and Facebook pages. The public will be able to preview the auction before bidding goes live on the November 7. Also, a catalog of items will be updated regularly on Facebook to get people excited about the great items that have been donated. Stay tuned for more information!
