Did you know that Doctors’ Day was first observed on March 30, 1933 to commemorate the date of the first use of general anesthetic in surgery on March 30, 1842? The U.S. House of Representatives adopted a resolution to commemorate this holiday in 1958 and in 1990, National Doctors’ Day was established. There are currently more than 700,000 physicians practicing in the United States. These individuals excel in medical expertise and provide care that is critical to everyone.
