A monthly interactive therapeutic art workshop for adults who desire to explore creative ways to work through and express their grief. (This program also takes place on a monthly basis at Hospice of Randolph in Asheboro. Click here to learn more.)
Storybooks
Grief can feel like a story that has been cut short, leaving the characters feeling lost in the middle of an unfinished chapter. This workshop provides a safe space to assume control over your grief narrative. Participants will combine drawings, collage, and writings within an accordion-style storybook to map out their journey – honoring the “before,” witnessing the “now,” and considering the “next.” Each storybook serves as a symbolic container of memories and testaments to resiliency.

Feelings Color Wheel
Grief is more than just sadness; it is a spectrum of emotions that can be difficult to name. This workshop helps organize the complexity of loss by inviting participants to create a color wheel filled with colors, patterns, and symbols representing the emotions they are navigating. By creating this visual map, participants gain a clearer picture of how their emotions interact and evolve.

Grief Jeopardy
Grief is a complex concept that is difficult to understand due to its many moving parts. This workshop uses a “Jeopardy” format to increase understanding of the grieving process. Following the traditional game format, participants will explore categories like Myths vs. Facts, Types of Grief, and Coping Strategies. Responses will be a mixture of written and artistic expression, blending grief education with the therapeutic benefits of artmaking.
